Backup Childcare Pilot Provider Application
The Douglas ESD and Business Champions for Kids (Biz4Kids), with support from Care Connections & Education, are launching a Back-Up Childcare Pilot Program to help working families when their regular childcare arrangements unexpectedly fall through. Participating childcare providers will reserve a childcare slot that can be used on short notice by employees of two local healthcare employers.
Providers interested in participating are encouraged to apply. Applications are open September 4 through September 21, 2026, and the pilot will begin in November 2026. Review the program information sheet and application details below to learn more.
Virtual Information Session for Interested Providers – Thursday, September 10, 6-7 pm

Join this one-hour Zoom information session to learn about the program, provider requirements, application process, timeline, and expectations for participating providers. We'll review the role of backup childcare providers, answer questions, and help you determine if the opportunity is a good fit for your program.
